Driven by passion. And Bart

They say if you do what you love, you never work a day in your life. I’m not sure who "they" are, but they clearly haven't tried parking a 40-tonne truck in a tight distinct in Monaco. That said, I do genuinely love driving.

My name is Bart. I am a freelance truck driver with 18 years of experience under my belt. I’m Polish by birth, but after spending half my life in the UK, I consider myself a fluent speaker of both English and sarcasm.

My career has taken me from rigid corporate training with blue-chip giants to the high-octane world of Formula 1 logistics and European event transport. I pride myself on being a "people person" in a solitary industry; I enjoy being part of a crew and often drive double-manned runs because good company is hard to beat.

When the engine is off, I’m a dedicated father and husband, living back in Poland with two cats who allow us to share their furniture. I’m obsessed with Volkswagen Transporters, motorsport, and WWII history. I love classic hard rock and early electronic music. If it’s got a guitar or a synthesizer from the 80s, I’m into it.

I am the proud owner of VanBartGetaway. I offer private day trips across the stunning Lower Silesia region and beyond. It’s just me and the van at the moment, but every empire starts somewhere, right?

Travel in the Icon: The VW Multivan (Caravelle)

If you look at the photos on this site and think, "That looks like a rather splendid van," you would be entirely correct. But to me, it’s not just a van; it’s a Volkswagen Multivan T6.1, and I’m afraid I’m a bit of a fanatic about it.

I maintain this vehicle to an obsessively high standard. I service it religiously and clean it so frequently that my neighbours have started to talk. But the result is a driving experience that gives me immense joy, and a passenger experience that is nothing short of first-class.

Space, Comfort, and a Bit of Swivel The van comfortably accommodates 6 passengers (plus myself, your charming driver) in seven proper seats. Forget squeezing into the back of a cramped saloon; here, you have room to breathe, stretch out, and relax.

• The Conference Room on Wheels: The two middle seats swivel round, and there is a retractable table perfect for resting a laptop, signing a deal, or simply balancing a very necessary cup of coffee.

• Climate Control: The air conditioning and heating can be controlled from the passenger area. If I’m freezing and you’re roasting, you have the power to fix it.

• VIP Privacy: The passenger windows are tinted, providing excellent privacy and protection from the glare of the sun (or the paparazzi, should you be famous).

Safety & Family This German engineering marvel is packed with every modern safety feature available. If you are travelling with mini-VIPs, I have baby and toddler seats available upon request—just let me know.
